Update, October 15: It drops tomorrow. Nice Kicks has the Black Samba OG SFTM (HQ7600) at $130 in the US through adidas.com and select retailers, and Sneakerjagers has European shops going at 10 AM CEST Friday (4 AM ET) for €130. We haven't seen a confirmed US launch time yet, so check the adidas app early Friday.
The Samba has been everywhere for about three years straight, so it was only a matter of time before somebody stepped on the back of it on purpose. Song for the Mute did. The Australian label's eighth numbered collection with adidas Originals, SFTM x adidas 008, is built around the Samba OG SFTM-010, a deconstructed take with a collapsible heel that folds down so you can wear it as a slip-on mule. After launching through Song for the Mute in September, the pack gets its global release on Friday, October 16, 2026, per Sole Retriever and Hypebeast.
The Samba comes in three colors: Black and Brown in soft leather and Green in suede, with minimal branding, tonal stitching and cream laces. Next to it is the SL 72 PRO SFTM-011, which takes adidas' skinny '70s runner and parks it on a big stacked rocker sole, with a woven fabric base and suede overlays in Off White, Beige and Collegiate Green. A matching run of track tops, track pants, shorts, tees and accessories rounds it out in the same muted, earthy palette.

Our take: SFTM's adidas work has always looked like sportswear somebody has been living in for ten years, and a Samba you can crush down at the back is the most honest version of that yet. Half of you already walk on the heels of your Sambas. Now it's a design feature instead of a crime. The SL 72 PRO is the wild card, a slim runner with a sole that clearly started going to the gym, and it's going to split the group chat.
