Vans is putting the pearls back on. The Old Skool 36 Pearlized "Marshmallow" returns Thursday, October 8 at Vans.com and select Vans retailers for $130, style code VN000ZB8CDA, per Sneaker Bar Detroit and Just Fresh Kicks. And this time it's wearing more jewelry than last year.
The shoe is an off-white "Marshmallow" Old Skool in canvas and suede, with faux pearls and little crystal studs running along the Sidestripe, around the toe, and now up the tongue and onto the heel too. The 2025 pair kept its pearls to the stripe and toe box. Vans also roughed it up on purpose: scuffed upper and midsole, worn-in laces, a thin black line around the sole, the "Off The Wall" plate on the heel, a Sola Foam ADC insole and the regular waffle outsole underneath. So it's a shoe that looks like it has been to a few parties, and also somehow came home with more pearls than it left with.
A little history helps here. The Pearlized "Marshmallow" first showed up at ComplexCon in October 2025 before a wider Vans release the next month, and it moved fast. Bringing it back a year later with extra sparkle is Vans doing the obvious thing, which is often the right thing. It's a skate shoe dressed for a wedding, and somehow that works. White-on-white Old Skools usually live or die on how clean they stay. This one is scuffed out of the box and covered in pearls, so you can stop worrying about the first rain.
