UGG and JW Anderson Put a Penny Strap on the Classic Boot and Tasman, Out October 15

UGG just put a penny-loafer strap on its two most famous silhouettes, and it did it with JW Anderson. Footwear News reports the brand's debut collab with Jonathan Anderson's namesake label: the UGG x JW Anderson Loafer Boot and the UGG x JW Anderson Loafer, each in Chestnut, Khaki and Orange. Both keep the rounded toe, box-stitching and that saddle strap across the vamp — the same detail Anderson has been running on loafers, bags and ready-to-wear for years. Retail is $300 to $400, and the pack lands Wednesday, October 15, 2026.

The campaign is home, but not cozy in the expected way. UGG tapped British singer-songwriter and producer Dev Hynes (Blood Orange) and shot him moving through a house — sitting, standing, leaving, coming back — in the Orange Loafer and Orange Loafer Boot. Anderson called UGG boots "instantly recognizable" and said he wanted to see that familiar shape through a JW Anderson lens. Fair. A shearling boot with a penny strap is either genius or a crime against lobbies everywhere, and we are here for the argument.

Our take: after Willy Chavarria's UGG moment in September, this is the brand stacking designer partners like it means it. Anderson's strap language is loud enough that you notice it from across the room, and quiet enough that Chestnut still looks like something you'd wear to brunch without announcing a collab. Orange is the group-chat pick. Khaki is the one that will quietly sell out first. Just remember: suede and a surprise rainstorm are not friends.
