MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon aren't easing into winter. The pair have an eight-shoe Fall/Winter 2026 collection split across two drops, October 22 and November 17, with two brand-new silhouettes in the mix, per Sneaker News.
Drop one is led by the MM6 Crossderby, which is exactly what it sounds like: a glossy black leather derby upper sitting on Salomon's drawstring lacing and a rugged trail sole. It's the shoe for someone who wants to wear trail shoes to a wedding and dares anyone to say something. Three colorways of the XT-MM6 round out the October 22 release, from a soft pastel pair to a silver one with a multicolor sole and a deep forest green.
Drop two on November 17 is where it gets weird, in the good MM6 way. The new MM6 XT-BOOT takes a trail sole and throws a huge, puffer-like cover over the top, finished with the Maison Margiela Number System. In the images it comes in black and in cream, and it looks like a sneaker that brought its own sleeping bag. Next to it, the ACS Pro MM6 returns in two colorways, "Urban Chic" and "Cosmic Sky."
Our take: this partnership has been running long enough that the easy move would be another round of ACS Pro colorways and call it a season. Instead, MM6 used FW26 to pull Salomon into two directions at once, formalwear and full cold-weather absurdity. The Crossderby is the one we'd bet on selling through; the XT-BOOT is the one that will end up in every "best weird shoes of the year" list. Pricing and retail lists aren't out yet.
