Michael Jordan spent the early '90s turning Madison Square Garden into his personal stage, and Patrick Ewing's Knicks spent those same years trying to bruise him off of it. Jordan Brand is turning that rivalry into a shoe. House of Heat has the best look yet at the Air Jordan 8 "Knicks", with a full set of official photos from Nike, and the release is now set for December 24, 2026.
The pair (style code IX8479-010) is part of Jordan Brand's "Idols Become Rivals" series, which tells the story of Jordan going from a young player looking up to the league's veterans to the guy everyone else had to stop. The Knicks chapter lands on the Air Jordan 8, the Tinker Hatfield design that debuted in 1993 and closed out the first three-peat. The Nike photos show a black upper with royal blue and orange working through the side graphic and straps, an orange "23" outlined in blue on the side, an orange midsole and heel tab, and an orange Jumpman on the outsole. It even comes in a royal blue box, so the Knicks theme doesn't stop at the shoe.

Per House of Heat, the Air Jordan 8 "Knicks" is scheduled to release on December 24, 2026. Pricing hasn't been shared yet, and it's still unclear whether grade school sizes will come alongside the men's pairs. House of Heat points out that rival-themed Jordans have nodded to the Celtics, Cavaliers and Kings before, so this one has company.
Our take: black, blue and orange on an 8 is a cheat code. The shoe was already loud, and the Knicks colors make it look like it's wearing a playoff hoodie. There's also something funny about Jordan Brand celebrating a team MJ spent years tormenting. Knicks fans get a great shoe, Bulls fans get a reminder of how those series ended, and everybody gets a Christmas Eve problem when it comes time to check out.
At ONENESS: the "Knicks" 8 isn't out yet and isn't in our lineup, but there's plenty of Jumpman on the shelf right now. The Air Jordan 1 High OG "Royal" in Black / Game Royal / White already has the black-and-royal thing covered, the Air Jordan 5 Retro OG "Halloween" in Black / Picante Red brings the dark base with a loud hit, and the Air Jordan 12 Retro "Fireside" is in stock too. The rest is under Jordan at ONENESS.
