A$AP Rocky's PUMA run is getting a lot more wearable. After a stretch of strange-on-purpose shoes like the Mostro and the Inhale, Rocky is back on PUMA's most famous sneaker: the A$AP Rocky x PUMA Suede '94 is coming in a new "Faded Blue" colorway (408735-04) at $120, per Sneaker News. It follows a black pair from earlier this year, and it's set to release soon through PUMA and select retailers. No exact date yet.
The idea is a Suede that looks like it spent a few summers on a windowsill. Navy suede gets a washed, sun-faded finish, the Formstrip comes in grey, and it all sits on a white midsole with a brown gum outsole. The branding is gold, including a chunky gold PUMA lace keeper on the laces. German retailer AFEW already has it up as coming soon and says it brings back the '90s shape with a padded raw-edge tongue, a woven retro label and a slimmer sole, all inspired by New York street style.
Our take: this is the Rocky collab for people who didn't get the Mostro. The Suede is about as safe as sneakers get, but the faded suede and gold hardware make it look like a pair you found in your uncle's closet in the best way. $120 for a celebrity collab on an icon is also a pretty fair deal right now. Just don't spend the first week trying to keep it clean, since it already looks broken in.
