Anthony Edwards is clearly a Halloween guy, and now his shell toe is too. The Anthony Edwards x adidas Superstar "Halloween" (style KZ9164) releases Friday, October 23, for $110 via adidas and partner retailers, per Sneaker News, which shared the official adidas images today.
The look is pure spooky season: a black upper built from a slitted synthetic overlay that lets a blood-red base glow through the cuts, a red heel tab, and a black shell toe. As on Ant's "Cold Blooded" pair, the usual ridged texture up front is gone, swapped for smooth rubber stamped with his AE logo. It's the lifestyle partner to his AE 3 "Omen", which drops the same day, so you can haunt the court and the parking lot in one outfit.
Our take: Halloween sneakers usually lean into pumpkins and cartoon ghosts, and they age about as well as leftover candy corn. This one plays it smarter. Read it as black and red with a little menace and it works well past October 31. The slashed sidewall is the kind of detail that looks better in person than on a white backdrop, and $110 is fair for a signature Superstar. Whether Ant shows up in costume this year is still a mystery, but the shoe has already chosen its outfit.
