Rosé is back in the Speedcat lane, and this time the racing flat gets a little bite. The PUMA Speedcat Croc wraps the low-profile silhouette in crocodile-textured suede and leather, then rolls it out in three dialed colorways — Black, Deep Brown, and Off-White — for an October 15 drop at PUMA.com, flagships, and select partners.
Per WWD, the Croc is the latest chapter in Rosé's PUMA ambassadorship, which already spans the Speedcat OG revival, the satin Speedcat Etoile, the ballet-laced capsule, and last week's Speedcat VTG in Burgundy and Espresso. The campaign puts her in a soft, retro interior — track jacket, cropped cat logo, scrunched socks — so the shoe reads as a lifestyle piece, not a novelty texture experiment.
Style codes on the press plates land around 40767401 / 40767402 / 40767403. The Formstrip picks up a glossy/metallic edge against the embossed upper, which is the whole joke: a motorsport flat that somehow wants to look like a handbag. If the VTG was about cracked nubuck and wrap laces, the Croc is about surface — you notice it from across the room before you clock the silhouette.
Our take: animal-texture sneakers usually tip into costume. This one stays slim and quiet enough that Deep Brown especially could sit next to wide trousers without announcing "I dressed as a purse today." Black is the safe buy; Off-White is the one that will photograph like cream leather in bad lighting and make you second-guess the receipt.
