Jordan Brand's Día de Muertos shoe for 2026 just showed up, and it brought a dog. The Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Somos Historias" is now listed on SNKRS Mexico for Tuesday, October 13 at 5:00 p.m., priced at MX$3,799, style code IZ4686-216, in sizes 22.5 to 31 cm. Nike's launch page calls it a low-cut take on the original 1985 AJ1, with a design inspired by the Mexican tradition of Día de Muertos. The name means "we are stories," which is a lot nicer than most sneaker nicknames.
Nike describes the upper as light chocolate and velvet brown, with leather embossed in bas-relief all over and long-hair suede mixed in for texture. The campaign photos fill in the rest: a dark toe, pocked brown overlays, a Swoosh outlined in white and teal stitching, a little charm on the laces, and a midsole that fades into teal toward the bottom. Sneaker News also points out a tongue tag that numbers every pair and a concrete-print box with an oversized Wings logo.
So how many pairs are there? Around 5,000, but the outlets can't agree on the last two digits. House of Heat says 5,026. Sneaker News says the tongue tag counts out of 5,036. Nike's own page doesn't give a number, so we'll call it "about five thousand" and let the tongue tag settle it.
The campaign is the best part. Nike shot the pair on red dirt next to a Xoloitzcuintle, the hairless dog that Mexican tradition says guides souls home, with orange cempasúchil marigolds lining the path and a dark lake behind them. The on-foot shot stays in that same moody lakeside setting. It's one of the few sneaker campaigns that actually explains the shoe instead of just standing next to it.

Our take: Jordan's releases made for Mexico have quietly become one of its better traditions. Sneaker News points back to last year's Air Jordan 4 "Somos Eternos" and Independence Day pairs like the Jordan 5 "El Grito." Brown-on-brown AJ1 Lows can end up looking like a leather couch, but the shaggy suede, the embossing and those teal hits keep this one from going full furniture. The teal sole is the risky choice, and we kind of love it. The big question is the US. As of this afternoon the pair is on SNKRS Mexico and not on the US SNKRS calendar, and Sneaker News says it's still unclear whether it stays a Mexico release. If you're in the States, treat it as a Mexico drop until Nike says otherwise.
The details: Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Somos Historias," style code IZ4686-216, MX$3,799, available on SNKRS Mexico Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., according to Nike's launch page.
Update (October 10): The Low isn't traveling alone. House of Heat's detailed look at the full "Somos Historias" collection adds a more widely available Air Jordan 1 Mid "Día de Muertos" (IZ4718-283), which moves the Xolo to the front of the tongue label next to the Jumpman, plus two apparel pieces in the same stone-and-earth palette: a Jordan Brooklyn reversible mesh jersey (IZ4491-207) and a graphic tee (IZ4498-010). House of Heat expects the retros and apparel to arrive through Nike.com/Jordan by Tuesday, October 13. As of this afternoon the US SNKRS calendar still doesn't list the Low, so the Mexico launch above is the only confirmed date. A Mid for the people and a numbered Low for the lucky few. Very on brand.
Update, October 12: Tomorrow's the day. The Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Somos Historias" (IZ4686-216) opens on SNKRS Mexico Tuesday, October 13 at 5:00 p.m. for MX$3,799, with the numbered tongue tags and the Xolo still starring in Nike's campaign. House of Heat still expects the Mid "Día de Muertos" and the matching jersey/tee on Nike.com/Jordan the same day. As of this morning the US SNKRS calendar still doesn't list the Low, so treat it as a Mexico drop until Nike says otherwise. No exact IZ4686 on ONENESS — Jordan collection only.
