NikeSKIMS Adds Its First Outerwear and Goes University Red for an October 22 Drop

NikeSKIMS finally has a coat. Nike announced on October 19 that Kim Kardashian's line with the Swoosh is adding outerwear for the first time, along with a new University Red colorway that runs through the season's apparel, footwear and accessories. The fall collection, which House of Heat says is called The Varsity Collection, drops globally on Thursday, October 22 at nike.com/NikeSKIMS and SKIMS.com/NikeSKIMS. Select Nike, SKIMS and partner stores follow after that.

The outerwear comes in two new fabric families. Sherpa is the cozy one: a vest, a half-zip and a hooded jacket in high-pile Nike Therma-FIT with a brushed lining and recycled nylon contrast panels. Crunchy Nylon is the structured one, with a water-repellent textured face across a cropped jacket, a hooded parka, a 2-inch short and wide-leg pants. Yes, "Crunchy Nylon" is the official name. Someone at Nike got that through a meeting, and we respect it.

Red is the color of the season. University Red shows up in Matte, Weightless Layers, Performance Cotton Blend, Crunchy Nylon, footwear and accessories, and the NikeSKIMS Rift Satin gets new Shadow Brown and University Red pairs next to the returning Silt Red. House of Heat lists the new Rifts as IQ7158-601 and IQ7158-201 at $160. Weightless Layers, Stretch Nylon, Performance Cotton Blend, Stretch Knit, Matte and Airy all return, with new body-contouring bras in Matte and new seamless single-layer Stretch Knit styles. For the campaign, Nike went to the University of Alabama cheer team, the reigning UCA Division 1A champs and a Nike school for three decades. "I'm especially excited about the University Red colorway," Kardashian said in Nike's release. "It's bold, effortless and brings so much energy to the collection."

Our take: outerwear was the obvious missing piece. NikeSKIMS has built out bras, leggings, layers and Rifts, but none of that does much once the temperature drops. Sherpa and nylon are a safe first step, and the all-red cheer shoot is the most fun this line has looked so far. Our sleeper pick is the Rift Satin in red, since a split-toe shoe in shiny red satin is going to stand out. Also, putting a 2-inch nylon short in a fall drop is a very confident bet on the weather.

The details: NikeSKIMS fall collection (The Varsity Collection, per House of Heat), out globally Thursday, October 22, 2026 at nike.com/NikeSKIMS and SKIMS.com/NikeSKIMS, with select Nike, SKIMS and partner retail stores to follow. New this season: Sherpa and Crunchy Nylon outerwear, the University Red colorway, and the NikeSKIMS Rift Satin in Shadow Brown and University Red ($160, per House of Heat). Nike did not list apparel prices.
